Botox Treatments at Alan Rene
Are there any
side-effects?
No serious side effects have
ever been reported, when using Botox for cosmetic treatments. Minor side
effects occur in a small number of patients and are always fully
reversible within a few days to a few weeks. Immediately after the
injection there may be mild swelling and redness which subsides within a
few days.
Bruising at the injection site may occur, this can be
covered with makeup if needed. Rarely, a temporary drooping of the eye
lid may occur, this resolves within a few weeks. Very rarely following
repeated injections the patient may develop antibodies to Botox. This
makes subsequent treatments ineffective.
Who performs the treatment?
Dr Ron Higson (MBChB MRCGP DRCOG
DPD(Cardiff) BSc Med Sci (St Andrews))
-a
Primary Care Dermatologist and General Practitioner in the Ribble Valley
is trained and experienced in the care of skin conditions and cosmetic
procedures. A full medical history and facial skin examination is
included. The choices of non-surgical and surgical procedures will be
discussed. Dr Higson is insured through the Medical Defence Union.
How much does it cost?
This generally depends on the areas treated and the
amount of Botox used during the procedure but an average cost would be
£200-300.
